Our Education and Child Protection

Over the next five years, Charity Corps Uganda will align this thematic area with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by prioritizing the safety, protection, and holistic well-being of children across all areas of operation. Our commitment is to create and sustain safe, inclusive, and nurturing environments where children can thrive emotionally, physically, socially, and academically.

Through strengthened safeguarding systems and child-centered programming, we uphold our ethical and institutional responsibility to protect children—especially the most vulnerable—from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Our approach integrates prevention, response, and capacity-building interventions to ensure long-term impact and resilience.

Our Education and Child Protection strategies include:

  • Strengthening child protection systems at community and institutional levels
  • Promoting positive social norms change to prevent violence and harmful practices
  • Providing comprehensive case management services for at-risk children and survivors
  • Supporting positive and better parenting practices to enhance safe family environments
  • Delivering vocational skills training for Adolescent Youth and Girls and Boys (AYGB) to promote self-reliance and economic empowerment
  • Using play therapy to support children’s psychosocial well-being and recovery
  • Enhancing coordination, networking, and strategic partnerships with government, civil society, and community stakeholders to improve child protection outcomes
