Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

In line with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programming promotes holistic well-being by addressing the psychological, emotional, and social needs of individuals and communities.

Our work encompasses both non-specialized and specialized mental health and psychosocial interventions, ensuring accessible, culturally appropriate, and community-based services across the areas where we operate. We aim to strengthen resilience, restore dignity, and improve overall functioning among individuals affected by trauma, displacement, poverty, violence, and other adversities.

Our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MNS) approaches and interventions include:

  • Provision of Psychological First Aid (PFA) and basic psychosocial support services
  • Play therapy to support children’s emotional expression, healing, and development
  • Implementation of Problem Management Plus (PM+) to equip individuals with practical coping strategies
  • Individualized case management to ensure tailored, survivor-centered support and referrals
  • Family counselling and home-based care to strengthen family systems and recovery environments
  • Community-Based Sociotherapy to promote collective healing, social cohesion, and mutual support
